Major Arcana
The Fool
- new beginnings
- spontaneity
- trust
- freedom
On the card
A young traveller in bright clothes steps toward the edge of a cliff, a white rose in one hand and a small bundle on a staff, while a little white dog leaps at their heels under a yellow sky.
Upright
The Fool is the beginning of a journey, taken with an open heart and very little luggage. It invites you to trust curiosity over certainty and to say yes to something new. There is wisdom in not knowing everything yet – just keep one eye on the ground beneath your feet.
Reversed
Reversed, the Fool can point to carelessness or to a restlessness that keeps you from landing anywhere. You may be leaping without looking, or holding back so tightly that nothing begins at all. Ask whether you need more grounding, or simply the courage to take the first step.
- Love & connection
- In love, the Fool favours openness and playfulness: meeting someone without a script, or bringing a sense of adventure back into a bond you already share.
- Work & purpose
- At work, it marks a fresh start, an unusual idea or a path no one has mapped for you yet.
- A prompt for you
- Take one small step toward something that makes you curious.
