Swords
Eight of Swords
- feeling trapped
- self-doubt
- restriction
- fear
On the card
A blindfolded figure, loosely bound, stands on wet ground inside a loose ring of eight swords, a castle on the hill behind.
Upright
You may feel stuck, criticised or hemmed in, with no obvious way out. Look closely, though: the bonds are loose and the swords do not fully enclose you. Much of the trap is made of fearful thoughts, and small steps can begin to show you an opening.
Reversed
The blindfold is starting to slip. You are seeing options you missed and loosening beliefs that kept you small. Unexpected obstacles can still appear, so move with care, but trust that you have more freedom than you thought.
- Love & connection
- Fear of getting it wrong may be keeping you from reaching out. Question the story that says you have no choice.
- Work & purpose
- You feel boxed in by rules or other people's opinions. List what you can actually change, and start there.
- A prompt for you
- Which of these walls is only a thought?
