Swords
Seven of Swords
- strategy
- evasion
- cunning
- going it alone
On the card
A figure tiptoes away from a camp of tents, arms full of five swords and glancing back, while two swords remain planted in the ground.
Upright
A plan is in motion, perhaps clever, perhaps a little sneaky. This card asks you to look at where you or someone else is avoiding the direct route. Strategy has its place, but trying to carry everything alone, or quietly, can mean leaving important pieces behind.
Reversed
Secrets tend to surface, and this may be the moment to come clean or to ask openly for what you want. It can also show good advice arriving from someone wiser. Be wary of gossip, your own or others', and choose transparency where you can.
- Love & connection
- Notice where honesty is thin, in yourself or in the other person. Trust grows from openness, not from managing what the other knows.
- Work & purpose
- A shortcut looks tempting. Check whether it will hold up in daylight, and whether a team effort would carry more.
- A prompt for you
- What are you leaving behind by doing this alone?
